Roisin White

Róisín White is a visual artist based in Dublin, working primarily with photography while incorporating drawing, sculpture, and collage into her practice. Róisín holds a BA (hons) in Photography from DIT, and certificates in Ceramics, Sculpture, and Drawing from NCAD.

Róisín White’s work draws from archival materials, where she has an interest in exploring lore and the fictional narrative that can be discovered in discarded imagery, previous understandings agitated, and new meanings are drawn out. Storytelling and process are central parts of White’s practice, bringing the personal notebook to the wall, and these conversations to the audience.
White has an interest in stories that have been previously overlooked, that intersect with the body, and that are multifaceted; combining mediums and providing a space for investigation.

Róisín was the 2019 Emerging Artist in Residence at The Darkroom. She concluded her residency period with a solo show entitled “Cross the Child’s Palm with Silver”
